The NYC Unicycle Festival takes place on Labor Day Weekend.

Free for everyone and produced by Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc., the New York City Unicycle Festival brings together recreational riders, world-class performers, mountain and off-road unicycle enthusiasts, mono-wheel vehicle inventors, and thousands of people who have not ridden in umpteen years, along with circus enthusiasts, extreme sports viewers, and anyone seeking an unusual sight–even for NYC!

All ages and abilities welcome.

Thursday, August 31, 2023 @ 10:30am (approx 10 mi), we’ll start in Battery Park City. We’ll ride along the Hudson River with a nice breeze though our hair as we make our way to the loop of Central Park. We’ll see many of the park’s famous attractions. Then we’ll ride down Broadway to 42nd St (Time Square) where you can have New York’s famous roasted peanuts.

End: Times Square.

Friday, September 1, 2023 – meet @ 2:00pm, start @ 3:00pm (approx 13 mi), is the day we will pedal through Brooklyn following the pre-COVID route. Starting on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge, we will unicycle through Downtown Brooklyn all the way to Prospect Park, where we’ll stop and rest our wheels,  Then we’ll cross the highway and glide down Ocean Parkway to Coney Island where we hope to be treated to a ride on the Wonder Wheel.

Meeting/Start/End: Outside New York City Hall (across the street from the Manhattan entrance to The Brooklyn Bridge). Coney Island

Saturday, September 2, 2023 – noon to 5 pm. Saturday’s festivities are taking place at Seven Gables Playground with rides in Cunningham Park in Queens. Activities will include a Learn-to-ride area, a demonstration by King Charles Troupe, and games and relays. Get ready to MUNI! Rides will also be taking place on the Cunningham Park off-road cycle paths.
Location: Seven Gables Playground, Oceania St. &, 210th St, Oakland Gardens, NY 11364.

Rides will also take place on the Cunningham Park Mountain Cycle Trails.

Saturday Schedule

Sunday, September 3, 2023 @ 1:00pm (no ride), the final day of UniTour will be spent with fellow riders at the NYC Unicycle Club at Grant’s Tomb. This is a great opportunity to learn what unicycling is all about. The club meets between 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
