We want everyone to be safe. There will be physical distancing protocols in place: riders will be broken into groups of ten or less; riders will need to stay six feet apart; and helmets and masks will be required. If the situation in New York City changes, or if other unforeseen circumstances arise, the event may be cancelled. Participation is at your own risk.

We’re working on the plan for 2022. Here’s what we did in 2021.

Thursday, September 2, 2021 @ 10:30am (approx 10 mi), we’ll start in Battery Park City. We’ll ride along the Hudson River with a nice breeze though our hair as we make our way to the loop of Central Park. We’ll see many of the park’s famous attractions. Then we’ll ride down Broadway to 42nd St (Time Square) where you can have New York’s famous roasted peanuts.

Meeting/Start: Pier A, Battery Park City. In front of Pier A Harbor House.
End: Times Square.

Friday, September 3, 2021 – meet @ 2:00pm, start @ 3:00pm (approx 13 mi), is the day we will pedal through Brooklyn following the pre-COVID route. Starting on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge, we will unicycle through Downtown Brooklyn all the way to Prospect Park, where we’ll stop and rest our wheels,  Then we’ll cross the highway and glide down Ocean Parkway to Coney Island where we hope to be treated to a ride on the Wonder Wheel.

Meeting/Start/End: Outside New York City Hall (across the street from the Manhattan entrance to The Brooklyn Bridge). Coney Island

Saturday, September 4, 2021 @ 11:00am (approx 7 mi), will take place in the Bronx starting at Crotona Park the birthplace of the King Charles Unicycle Troupe. They’ll do a basketball show and then lead us in some challenges and games. Just before we ride we’ll check out the street that was just named after this troupe! The ride will lead us out of the park on E. 173rd St. then along an extended greenway paved trail that has lots of trees for those of us who need a good hug. We’ll follow Pelham Pkwy all the way to Pelham Bay Park and on to Orchard Beach where we can practice our idling in the big parking lot.

Meeting/Start/End: Crotona Park basketball court. Pelham Bay Park or Orchard Beach.

Sunday, September 5, 2021 @ 1:00pm (no ride), the final day of UniTour will be spent with fellow riders at the NYC Unicycle Club at Grant’s Tomb. This is a great opportunity to learn what unicycling is all about. The club meets between 1:00pm – 5:00pm.

We hope to see you soon!
